COMMUNITY PROJECTS

CTH have had the pleasure of being able to support  local projects, many of which may not have gone ahead due to minimal funding or resources.

Getting involved in local projects gives our clients the opportunity to participate and put the skills they have been learning into use.  It also lets the clients see a job from start to finish, learn the importance of what they are doing and why, customer service and working to a high standard.  It also gives them a great sense of achievement and pride.

CTH CLIENTS BUILD MEMORIAL BENCH FOR WELL-LOVED LOCAL

CTH were privileged for the opportunity, on behalf of Buckhaven Community Council, to build benches in memory of a well admired local.

This was a great way to use their recently gained skills.

It has been an honour and a pleasure for our clients and team to take part in this.

CTH CLIENTS CREATE PLAY AREA FOR LOCAL KIDS GROUP

CTH were asked by The MCCI project to create a wooden Play area for young kids.

Having constructed a play facility for youngsters, seeing the outcome and it being used, the client satisfaction and pride on this one was overwhelming.

OUTDOOR REFURB FOR LOCAL CHURCH

Balcurvie Church doors were in need of repair and a refurb.  Our clients applied their new skills on the job, by sanding, repairing the wood with filler, and prepping for painting.  The doors were finished off with a few coats of paint and look as good as new.

Our clients Robbie and Blair took the lead on this project which has helped them learn how to prep and prime an area for painting and the importance of this, removing and refurbishing ironmongery and completing the job to customer satisfaction.

STREET BENCHES REFURBISHED FOR LOCAL CHURCH

Outdoor benches for our local church were in need of some restoration, this gave our clients a great opportunity to be out in the community and learn on the job skills.

COTSWALDS PARK, KENNOWAY DAFFODIL PLANTING

Our clients had a 'blooming' great time planting daffodils for Cotswald community park in Kennoway.

FESTIVE DONATION TO LOCAL CARE HOME

Our clients and staff have been getting in the festive spirit. They designed and created this beautiful wooden train using recycled materials.
They chose to donate their creation to Abbotsford Care in East Wemyss for their outdoor decorations.
This project has been a great way for clients to progress with their skills development. Well done all.

SANTAS COMING....... TO CTH

Our staff, clients and local Police Station all got together to design and create this a beautiful Santa sleigh for Collydean Community Centre.  It brought a great sense of festivity to the hub.

Our local Police Station provided the space to store and construct the sleigh along with officers that, in their own time supported us in the construction.

It had been a very difficult year, but communities pulling together shows what can be achieved for a good cause.

ACCESS RAMP CONSTRUCTED AND INSTALLED FOR LOCAL MENS SHED

The Shed Bayview required a disabled access ramp.  This was a great opportunity to assist in progressing with our clients joinery skills whilst constructing something that will provide support to local community groups.

KITCHEN REFURBISHMENT FOR COMMUNITY CENTRE

The kitchen in Collydean Community Centre was in need of updating. Our clients were given the opportunity to assist with this, putting their new skills to use and learning on the job.

CTH HELPS LOCAL FOOD PANTRY

The Food Pantry had a limited budget to turn a local space in the community centre into a functional food pantry to serve food to the local community.

With CTH clients, skills and resources we worked together with the view of the training our clients would gain and overall project.  Together we were able to work within the budget to achieve their outcome.  So far this has been a very successful project and a great resource for the community.

We have now been approached to deliver the same process in other areas of the community.

NEW FENCE FOR LOCAL RESIDENT

Our current group were out in the community this week for real life job experience learning how to build a fence and gaining knowledge of working practices, working to a high standard and ensuring customer satisfaction.
